Mariah Carey honors Whitney Houston

They may be rivals on the music charts but Mariah Carey has nothing but respect for the late Whitney Houston.

On Instagram Feb. 11, Mariah honored Whitney on her 9th death anniversary.

"Remembering the immortal and incomparable Whitney Houston with love and respect and eternal admiration. Rest in Power. ❤️ " wrote Mariah on Instagram. Both Mariah and Whitney are two of the biggest female artists in music history.

In 1998, Mariah and Whitney recorded a duet titled "When You Believe," the theme from the animated flick The Prince of Egypt. It reached No. 15 in Billboard Hot 100 and won an Oscar for Best Song at the 1999 Academy Awards.

Whitney was found dead at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Feb. 11, 2012. Reports said that she accidentally drowned in the bathtub. Her heart disease and cocaine use were also contributing factors to her demise.
