Claudine Barretto recalls ex-BF Rico Yan: 'Mahal ko pa rin siya...'

Rico Yan died in his sleep due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis on March 29, 2002.

At the time he just broke up with Claudine Barretto.

In Janelle Jamer's vlog, Claudine admitted: "Mahal ko pa rin siya. Hindi nawawala 'yon."

She added, "Kahit hindi na kami, nandoon pa rin. Lalo pa yatang lumalabas kung ano ang nararamdaman mo towards the person kapag nawala na 'yung tao."

Claudine regrets how their relationship ended the way it did.

"Yes, mayroon akong pagsisisi na sana mas matagal ko siyang nakasama, sana nandoon ako nung nangyari 'yung dapat sana ay hindi nangyari," she shared.

Yan and Barretto were among more popular love teams of their era.

The movies they starred in, including “Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita” and “Got 2 Believe,” were certified hits.

Following Rico's demise, Claudine married Raymart Santiago.

They would separate years later, with Raymart now in a relationship with Jodi Sta. Maria.

Is Claudine ready to fall in love again?

She said, "Matagal na. Kaya lang wala pa lang talagang dumarating..."

Claudine is hoping she will eventually find a protector.

"Someone who will protect you, someone who will keep you safe and will give you security."
