Pamplona town, Camarines Sur to enjoy benefits of agri road soon

The scheduled completion of a one-kilometer access road in Pamplona, Camarines Sur later this month is expected to create a faster transport route for farm produce to local markets.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said it is fast-tracking the completion of the farm-to-market road in the Municipality of Pamplona.

DPWH Camarines Second District Engineer Ruben S. Santos, Jr. said that the ongoing concreting of a one-lane kilometer road in Barangay Patong is expected to be finished this February.

“This project will not just improve the transport of farm products to market centers but also further stimulate other economic activities and improve access to social services of the people in the province of Camarines Sur,” Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said.

The construction of the Barangay Patong farm-to-market road project was possible by a P12-million fund from the Department of Agriculture.

In 2020, the DPWH Camarines Sur district engineering office implemented a total of 126 infrastructure projects, of which 54 have already been completed.
