Celebrity adoptive parents Jimmy and LJ Alapag promote legal adoption

Celebrity adoptive parents Jimmy and LJ Alapag are helping out the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) promote its campaign to spread unconditional love through legal adoption.

“It’s important, not only for the parents, but also for the child. To protect you as parents, for the child, just to make sure they’re really a part of your family and done legally,” they said in a message posted on DSWD’s Facebook page.

The Alapags, who are adoptive parents to their seven-year-old son, Ian Maximus, cited the importance of legal adoption to protect the best interest of the adoptive children.

“We’re thankful for the process, we’re thankful for the blessing of our son. It’s a joy for both of us to just see him grow up into his own personality and the things that he loves and is passionate about. And that won’t be a bit possible without getting into the adoption process,” they said.

LJ, an actress, and Alapag,San Miguel Alab Pilipinas coach, finally brought Ian home in 2014.

LJ met Ian at Grace to be Born, a maternity home and nursery in Pasig City.

A few days after taking Ian to their home, LJ found out that she is pregnant with their first biological child, Keona Skye, now five years old.

In 2017, the Alapags were blessed with a son whom they named Calen Asher.

In August 2020, the couple, who tied the knot in 2010, announced in their YouTube video that they are expecting another child.
