Another mall in Antipolo closed down for violating COVID-19 protocols


Another mall in Antipolo City was temporarily closed after it was found violating the city's health protocols.

iMall in Barangay San Roque was ordered closed on Feb. 8, just days after Victory Park and Shop's closure on Feb. 4.

As of Feb. 9, iMall remained closed/ Meanwhile, Victory Park and Shop has already re-opened on Feb.7 after submitting its health protocol measures to the city government.

Following the closure of two malls, city government spokesperson Casimiro ‘Junjun’ Ynares, III warned establishment owners anew, as well as residents, of penalties that await those who will violate the city's health protocols.

Ynares said establishments can face closure, while residents can be arrested for violating minimum health protocols.

“We expect everyone to continue to respect and adhere to the protocols set by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases) and the city government, “ Ynares said.

Ynares also reminded establishment owners and residents to follow existing protocols set by health authorities, as the virus continues to exist and pose danger to lives despite the promise of the coming of the vaccines.

As of Feb. 9, Antipolo City has recorded a total of 4,367 COVID-19 cases, among which 108 are active.
