Manila barangay chiefs told to keep Mabuhay lanes obstruction-free
The Manila City government reminded all barangay chiefs in the city to keep Mabuhay lanes free of obstructions, telling them that the policy remains “non-negotiable.”

In a memorandum dated February 8, Manila Barangay Bureau (MBB) Director Romeo Bagay said “No Obstruction” and “No Vendor” policies must be enforced in the following Mabuhay lanes:
1. Abad Santos
2. Juan Luna (Asuncion Street to Recto Avenue)
3. Soler
4. Blumentritt (Antipolo Street to Aurora Boulevard)
5. Raon
6. Taft (Vito Cruz Street to Ayala Bridge)
7. Ayala Ave. (Taft Avenue to C. Palanca Sr. Street)
8. Palanca (P. Casal Street to Plaza Lacson)
9. Nicolas Zamora (Tayuman Street to Moriones Street)
10. Moriones (Nicolas Zamora Street to R-10)
11. Escolta (Plaza Cervantes to Plaza Sta. Cruz)
12. Recto (Legarda Street to Asuncion Street)
13. Carriedo
14. Pedro Gil
15. Padre Faura
16. Angel Linao
17. Paz (Pedro Gil Street to Escoda Street)
18. A. Lacson
The policy is in line with Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso's directive to "return the streets to the people" by ensuring the smooth flow of foot and vehicular traffic along streets and major thoroughfares.
Show cause orders may be served against barangay heads who will not comply with the city government's directive, Bagay warned.
Insufficient responses to show cause orders “shall result to filing of appropriate administrative cases” pursuant to Section 60(c) of Republic Act No. 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991, he added.
