The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Monday was formally awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recertification, an accomplishment Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday said was an affirmation of the good work her office has been doing, especially amid the COVID-19 crisis.
In a ceremony held at the Quezon City Reception House, Robredo was beaming with pride when she personally received the ISO 9001:2015 certificate.
It was given to Robredo by Tristan Arwen Loveres, managing director of TÜV Rheinland Philippines. The awarding was streamed live on Robredo’s official Facebook page.
The OVP first attained its ISO certification in 2017. The recertification is valid for another three years.
Such certification is sought by government agencies, organizations, and top companies from various fields around the world, as it provides a standard that ensures quality of products and services.
In a speech during the awarding, the vice president noted the ISO 9001:2015 has been an “important tool” to reinvent her office.
“That is reinventing the office not just as far as what we we are doing is concerned, but reinventing the office to make the best out of the people here is a big thing,” she said.
Robredo added the points of improvement under the ISO certification would also provide direction to the OVP’s undertakings in the coming years.
Loveres commended the OVP for continuously complying with the international standard and requirements for a quality management system even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“2020 was really a very challenging, very difficult year considering this world health emergency. But you have proven that with hard work, teamwork, and of course strong leadership, we can continuously comply but also survive these very difficult times,” he said.
