De La Salle College 'massacre survivor' Gloria Carlos Vera dies
Gloria Carlos Vera, one of the last living survivors of the De La Salle College Massacre, died at the age of 93.

According to the De La Salle University of History, Vera passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6.. No information about the death of the deceased was released, as of this writing.
As the Battle of Manila raged on with bombing and killings in 1944, some people sought refuge at the De La Salle College.
On Feb. 12, 1945, about 20 Japanese soldiers stormed through the gates of the school to kill 41 civilians. At that time, the campus was a home to 70 people, including 30 women and young girls and 16 Christian brothers from Europe.
Victims were either shot, slashed, or bayoneted.
Vera survived the massacre by pretending to be dead after she was bayoneted in the back by a Japanese soldier.
