A non-government organization (NGO), in partnership with a private proponent and the Department of Agriculture (DA), has launched a program selling low-priced meat products in Metro Manila.
Malasakit Movement’s Meat on Wheels went to Marikina City and sold affordable meat products at San Roque Elementary School last Saturday.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson Asec. Celin Pialago, founder of Malasakit Movement, said their Meat on Wheels program is going around Metro Manila to sell low-priced meat products.
“Every visit to a city, we can serve approximately 500 to 700 families. We only have limited supply so first come, first served,” she said.
“We tied up with a private proponent who wants to remain anonymous. This proponent just wants to provide affordable meat products to the public, especially now that prices of these products are high,”Pialago added.
She said they coordinate with local governments in order to observe social distancing and minimum health protocols.
“We always bring a truck on our visits, and we have our own cold storage. Our meat products are 500 grams per pack,” she said.
The founder of the NGO said buyers can buy as many as they want.
“But I am appealing to them to just buy meat products for their family as there are other people who need to purchase low-priced meat products,” she said.
For the details of the next Meat on Wheels, Pialago said the public may check the Malasakit Movement’s Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/malasakitmovement/).
