LOOK: DPWH shows off progress of breathtaking Pangasinan road
The Daang Katutubo access road in Pangasinan is only 64 percent complete, and yet it is already quite breathtaking.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) shared to reporters a photo of the project Sunday, February 7, in order to show the status of the road. It's practically a long and winding road carved atop the hills of the province.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said the road, which leads to Mapita Community and View deck to Nayong Aguilar in Aguilar, Pangasinan, is expected to improve access of indigenous communities to social services.
It will particularly benefit Kankanaey, Bago, and Ibaloi groups in Barangay Mapita.
"This road improvement will give boost to the growth of tourism, provide economic opportunities, and will allow the indigenous people to have better access to basic social services available in more urbanized areas,” said Villar.
Once completed, travel time from the town proper of Aguilar, Pangasinan to the community will be reduced from one (1) hour to just 30 minutes and will also provide a more reliable access to the view deck of the Ylang Ylang Plantation at Nayong Aguilar.
