The body of a 74-year-old man was found floating in the shoreline of Pasig River in Sta. Ana, Manila Saturday night.
Police identified the victim as Reynaldo San Mateo, 74, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite.
Investigation showed that members of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) saw the body, clad in a t-shirt and jeans, floating in front of the Sta. Ana Ferry Station.
They dropped off their passengers at the Sta. Ana Market Dock before fishing the corpse out of the water.
The victim was identified through his identification cards in his wallet that was found in his pants pocket.
Also retrieved were the black Casio watch the man was wearing, his ATM cards, and around P350 cash.
San Mateo's body was brought to Funeraria Cruz for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing.
