Indonesia-based esports organization Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) is set to enter the Philippine esports landscape.

RRQ made the surprising announcement through its Facebook page on Thursday night, February 4.

"Hello Philippines! Are you guys ready? As of today, we are coming to your area with a whole new level of excitement," it said.

However, the organization did not disclose in which esports title it will compete in the country.

"Can you guess which game title?" it added.

But Riot Games Southeast Asia might have spoiled RRQ's surprise for its Filipino fans.

Riot on Thursday bared its League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series: Preseason, a five-weekend long tournament that has the Philippines as one of the seven regions.

The game developer already unveiled three invited teams for the Philippine tourney namely Team Secret PH, Bren Esports and guess what, RRQ PH.

Founded in October 2013, RRQ started with a Dota 2 team before expanding to other esports titles including Mobile Legends where it found huge success.

Its ML squad RRQ Hoshi is a two-time defending champion in MPL Indonesia and recently finished third in the M2 World Championship won by Filipino side Bren.

RRQ has nine teams across Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire, Valorant, FIFA and Fortnite. It released its Dota 2 squad in April 2019
