Korean actor Park Bogum updates fans on his military life in the Navy

Korean actor Park Bogum, who is currently fulfilling his military service in the Korean Navy, wrote a handwritten letter to update his fans.

Park Bogum, 27, enlisted in the Navy on Aug. 31 last year and is currently a member of the military band. After completing basic military training last October, he was transferred to the Navy headquarters in Gyeryong, South Chungcheong province.

On his fan cafe, he uploaded a letter and told fans, “I'm starting my day by removing the snow off the road under falling snow. The landscape is so beautiful."

"It's my first time removing the snow. Even if I'm not the one who's going to use this road, it feels worthwhile because others can go through the road safely thanks to my work," he added, according to SBS News. It’s currently winter in South Korea. .

Park Bogum added, "Doing such work made me feel grateful for all people out there who work hard to provide a safer and cleaner environment for us. These days, I feel like I have taken many things for granted when they should have been more appreciated.”

“I feel very thankful that I can use this time to read books and write letters. Please take care of yourselves well in this cold weather. Stay warm and walk as safely as you can so that you don't fall over," he told fans.

Park Bogum is one of the most popular stars in Korea. In the year-ender Gallup Korea survey last December of the Korean TV stars who shined in 2020, Park Bogum placed second with 7.6 percent behind actress Kim Hee-ae, star of the hit drama “The World of the Married.”

Last year, Park Bogum starred in “Record of Youth,” his last drama project before he enlisted in the military.

He will be discharged from the military in April 2022.
