Sorry love birds: UP Diliman Academic Oval to remain closed until Valentine's Day
The University of the Philippines Diliman's (UPD) Academic Oval in Quezon City, a popular dating place among couples, will remain closed to the public until Feb. 14, 2021, the school administration announced on Thursday.

The UPD administration cited health and safety reasons in extending the closure of the academic oval.
The oval was supposed to be opened to the public on Friday, February 5, after it was closed last January 23 as a precautionary measure against the spread of the new COVID-19 variants.
"Hey, we know you miss the fresh air at UP Diliman (UPD). However, for health and safety reasons, the UPD administration has decided that the Academic Oval will remain closed to the public until Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021," the UPD posted on its Facebook page on Thursday.
"The Academic Oval will be opened on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, as always! And please, stay safe," the announcement added.
