You've probably been moved by a painting. But have you ever seen a painting that actually moves?
Digital artist Mark Cañega just turned Fernando Amorsolo's "Couple Riding a Carabao during Sunset" into a literal moving painting, and this has, so far, amassed over 4,000 positive reactions on Facebook.
"An attempt to animate my favorite artwork of Philippine’s National Artist for Visual Arts Sir Fernando Amorsolo. My original plan was to create a series of animation based on his oil paintings but with my occupied schedule right now, I think that’s far from possible ? So this attempt should be fine for now haha," Cañega wrote.
The eye-catching animation shows the sombrebo of the male figure bouncing softly with each step of the carabao, with the beast's tail swaying left and right rather naturally. The vegetation in the foreground and background reacts as it would in an unseen breeze, and so do the clouds.
Cañega, who described himself on his Instagram handle as a "non-award winning artist from the Philippines," threw in "Sa Sulyap Mo" by Diomedes Maturan to enhance the old world feel of his fantastic work.
He posted the clip on his Facebook last February 1, which he noted was the start of National Arts Month.
Cañega may not have an award yet in relation to his craft, but he sure has the talent for it.
