Mayor Isko, Bishop Pabillo meet today to discuss proposed use of churches as COVID-19 vaccination sites

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and Bishop Broderick Pabillo will hold a meeting at the Manila Cathedral today to discuss the proposal of the Catholic bishops to convert churches in the city into coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination sites.

Domagoso and the bishops will identify during the meeting the churches that will be used by the local government unit (LGU) as sites for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Manila's big churches, particularly those in Intramuros, are ideal vaccination sites because they have open spaces that can prevent the spread of COVID-19, he said.

The city government has identified 18 vaccination sites for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. These are:

District 1
●Isabelo Delos Reyes Elementary School
●Vicente Lim Elementary School
●Emilio Jacinto Elementary School

District 2
●Obrero Elementary School
●Florentino Torres High School
●Plaridel Elementary School

District 3
●P. Guevarra Elementary School
●Mabini Elementary School
●Bonifacio Elementary School

District 4
●Alejandro Albert Elementary School
●Ramon Magsaysay High School
●Legarda Elementary School

District 5
●Benigno Aquino Elementary School
●Rafael Palma Elementary School
●Lucban Elementary School

District 6
●Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology
●Zamora Elementary School
●Sta. Ana Elementary School

Domagoso said they want their vaccination sites to have open spaces, to have at least five rooms for vaccination, and a stable internet connection.
