DSWD to submit data for identification of priority recipients for COVID-19 vaccination
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is set to transmit to the Task Force on Vaccination Program the necessary data that will serve as basis for the identification of priority recipients of the government’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said necessary preparations are underway for the identification of the households that will be prioritized, once the Duterte government rolls out it vaccination program this month.
“Nagprepare na rin kami dahil sa miyembro kami ng National Task Force on Vaccination Program. Biningyan kami ng task dun at ibibigay po namin ang mga datos na ibibigay namin sa task force para magiging basis sa mga bibigyan ng prayoridad sa vaccination,” he said during the "Laging Handa” network briefing on Monday.
(We are preparing because we are member of the National Task Force Program for Vaccine. We are given task there and we will give the data to the task force, which will then serve as a basis for the identification of those who will be prioritized for the vaccination.)
Last week, Bautista said the DSWD is up to task to inform the “underserved” communities about the government’s coronavirus vaccination program.
In his message during the 70th founding anniversary celebration of the agency on Friday, he said being at the frontlines in the service and protection of the poor and vulnerable communities, the DSWD is expected to ”convince people at the barangay levels to see the advantages and safety of the different vaccines as procured by government based on their scientific merits.”
Quoting the recent Pulse Asia survey on Filipinos regarding COVID-19 vaccination, he noted that 47 percent are refusing vaccination, 21 percent are undecided and only 32 percent are willing to be vaccinated.
“The DSWD as community influencers has the duty to inform the underserved of the pros and cons of having COVID-19 vaccines so that they can make informed decisions for themselves,” he said.
Bautista earlier said the DSWD will identify the priority recipients of the COVID-19 vaccines.
