Airport personnel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will continue to assist arriving overseas Filipino workers under the stricter quarantine rules for arriving travelers in the country, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said Monday.

Even without having to facilitate swab tests for arrivals, the NAIA one-stop shop will continue to assist arriving nationals from the airport’s terminals to their quarantine facilities.

Starting February 1, arriving passengers, regardless of their origin, are required to undergo quarantine upon arrival and will only undergo RT-PCR test on the fifth day from their date of arrival in the country.

According to MIAA Public Affairs Head Connie Bungag, arriving OFWs will be escorted to their quarantine areas until they finish their mandatory quarantine period.

Under the new quarantine rules, non-OFWs are advised to ensure that they have already secured a seven-day hotel booking for their mandatory quarantine.
