Iconic K-pop girl group BLACKPINK will be holding their global livestream concert “The Show” on YouTube today, Jan. 31, and ahead of the much awaited event, a spectacular drone display was held for them.
Telecom giant Globe staged “The Opening Act,” a BLACKPINK-themed drone show in the Philippines on Jan. 29. This is part of Globe’s partnership with BLACKPINK, which launched a new TVC and full-blown digital campaign in December.
The Opening Act used 100 drones that lit up the sky with the names of BLACKPINK members Jennie, Jisoo, Rose and Lisa and Globe’s latest campaign “Reinvent Your World.”
Through the campaign, Globe aims to empower its customers to "reinvent their world" and open themselves to new and exciting possibilities for the year.
This is possible with Globe giving the more world-class partnerships like this, a dependable and continuously-improving network and providing the latest technology like 5G, LTE-Advanced Prepaid WiFi and Unli Fiber Plans.
Customers can be inspired by BLACKPINK, which embodies what reinvention is all about, and transform themselves in the new digital world with Globe as their partner.
Earlier, Globe held a live design-your-own cup sleeve event thru Virtual Hangouts on Jan. 22 for BLINKs.
The event brought together fans nationwide to express themselves and celebrate the birthdays of BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Jisoo by painting colorful renditions of their favorite BLACKPINK member.
BLINKs got kits with painting materials, freebies and coffee mix to enjoy their creations within the comfort of their own homes, guided by artist Allyana Leizel.
Four of the best designs won the following: P5,000 worth of GCash, a P500 Shopee voucher, VIU 30D vouchers and a Globe Reinvent Kit.
In addition, 20 who were able to answer surprise questions during the livestream also won P1,000 worth of GCash, P200 Shopee vouchers and VIU 7D Vouchers.
Virtual Hangouts is just one of the many ways Globe, in partnership with BLACKPINK, is engaging Filipinos through technology.
BLINKs all over the world are excited to see BLACKPINK perform at “The Show.”
Manila Bulletin had an exclusive Q&A with BLACKPINK recently where they talked about their YouTube concert, achievements and BLINKs.
“‘The Show’ is our first live-stream concert so we’ve been excitedly preparing for our BLINKs. We’ve prepared the setlist with songs from ‘The Album’ that we haven’t performed yet and we’ve also prepared an exclusive never-before-seen performance! We’re trying our best to prepare our live-stream as if our fans are actually there with us so we hope you look forward to it!” said BLACKPINK.
