Vice President Leni Robredo on Saturday, Jan. 30, said her office did not give away “anemic” spaghetti to poor residents of San Mateo, Rizal as part of her office’s feeding program.
Robredo came to the defense of Angat Buhay partners who she said donated the food items.
“Hindi anemic ‘yung spaghetti (The spaghetti is not anemic). It’s actually very, very good,” she said in a Facebook post, describing those trolling her as “bored.”
“We thank our partners who painstakingly prepared them for our kababayans. God bless you for your generosity,” Robredo said as she advised them not to be affected by trolls.
The vice president was responding to a post by Thinking Pinoy, which read: “VP Leni Robredo, who has a 2021 budget of over P700 million, gives away anemic spaghetti to the laylayan (people on fringes of society).”
Thinking Pinoy has been known for its hateful comments against Robredo since she assumed office in 2016.
Robredo also posted a correction on its fake post that her office spent public funds for the spaghetti.
“FYI (for your information), hindi po galing sa budget namin ‘yan. Kami lang nag distribute. Nasa caption naman (that didn’t come from our budget. We only distributed it. It was indicated in the caption),” she said.
“At hindi na budget namin for 2021. Tinaasan ng Senate dahil sa maayos na paggastos (And our budget is no longer P700 million. The Senate had increased it because of our proper spending),” she added in her post with a smiling emoji.
