LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A man, who was accused by his own daughter of raping her four times last year, was arrested at his residence in Tuba, Benguet last Thursday, January 28.
Benguet Provincial Police Office Director Col. Elmer Ragay identified the suspect as Legaspi Quinto Benayan, 52, a farmer, and a resident of Alangan,Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet.
Ragay said Benayan was listed as No.2 Top Most Wanted Person in the province of Benguet for the first quarter of 2021.
He said Benayan was facing charges of four counts of rape before the Regional Trial Court in La Trinidad, Benguet with no bail recommended.
Personnel of the Tuba Municipal Police Station (MPS) said Benayan’s daughter came to their office on December 2, 2020, and reported that her father raped her for the first time on November 25, 2020, at about 11 p.m., while she was sleeping at their sala.
A second and third incident of sexual abuse happened at about 8 p.m. on November 29, before the fourth incident on November 30, around 10:30 p.m.
The investigator said the suspect was drunk when he raped his daughter, and that he threatened to kill her by hacking if she refused his advances.
