Man arrested for allegedly stealing mayonnaise in Manila

A construction worker was arrested by police after allegedly stealing four bottles of mayonnaise at a convenience store in Manila Friday night.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified him as 24-year-old June Engo Jr.

His arrest came after a salesman of a convenience store on Tejeron St. in Sta. Ana caught him placing four bottles of mayonnaise inside his eco-bag around 8:30 p.m.

According to the salesman, Engo “hurriedly walked” out of the store without paying for the products, prompting him to chase the suspect.

The complainant sought assistance from barangay officials, then to police that led to Engo’s arrest.

The suspect will be charged with theft, police said.
