99.37% of learners completed activity sheets for first quarter
The Department of Education (DepEd) said that almost 100 percent of the students enrolled at the basic education level have completed their Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) for the First Quarter in School Year (SY) 2020-2021.

Based on the data from DepEd’s Curriculum and Instruction unit, a total of 20, 985, 217 (99.37%) of students have completed their LAS. “Furthermore, there are 133,374 learners with incomplete activity sheets or who have yet to accomplish their activity sheets accounting for 0.63% of the total number,” DepEd added.
Based on the reports submitted by the Regional Offices, DepEd said that there are a total of 21,118,859 learners enrolled for the first quarter. The said report also showed consolidated data on the number of enrolled learners per region, the number of enrolled learners with incomplete activity sheets including their respective rates, and also the rates of learners’ accomplishment.
As shown in the DepEd data, there are six regions - including Ilocos (Region I), Cagayan Valley (Region II), Western Visayas (VI), Zamboanga (Region IX) and the National Capital Region (NCR) has already “achieved a 100% completion.” Meanwhile, DepEd noted that the 10 regions are “almost completely finished.”
Based on the data, Region XI has the most number of learners who were not able to complete their LAS. Out of the 839, 891 enrollees in Davao region, DepEd said that 62, 775 students have “incomplete activity sheets.”
There were also students in Region VIII who were unable to turn in complete LAS. DepEd said that out of the 1, 130, 991 enrollees in Eastern Visayas, there were 26, 516 learners with incomplete activity sheets.
DepEd said the development of the LAS should be based on the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) relative to the implementation of Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) for the School Year (SY) 2020-2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Teachers are tasked to prepare weekly learning plans while students utilize the learning activity sheets at home. DepEd has also set a uniformed template for the LAS for students - particularly in public schools.
