BARMM breaks ground for construction of 4 municipal halls in Lanao del Sur


DAVAO CITY - The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao broke ground for the construction of four municipal halls in Lanao del Sur province on Thursday, January 28.

The groundbreaking ceremonies for the construction of two-storey municipal halls in the municipalities of Lumbaca Unayan, Sultan Dumalondong, Butig, and Poona Bayabao were led by BARMM Minister for Interior and Local Government, Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo.

"We handed to them their checks representing the first tranche of their funds and from then on subsequent releases will be based on their actual accomplishment," Sinarimbo said in a statement on Friday.

On December 24 last year, the MILG and the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) inked a memorandum of agreement with the local government units for the construction of the four municipal halls.

The Bangsamoro government also entered into an agreement with the town mayors of Talayan, Kabuntalan, South Upi , Datu Blah Sinsuat, and Sultan Kudarat in Maguindanao for the construction of executive halls, public markets and legislative buildings on January 18, 2021.
