Kaya-Iloilo will take on clubs from Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar in the event it is relegated to play the ASEAN zonal group stage of the AFC Cup.

The Philippines Football League runner-up was drawn in Group I alongside Malaysia’s Terengganu, Singapore’s Geylang International and a Myanmar representative which could either be Shan United or Ayeyawady United.

Kaya is scheduled to face Australian side Brisbane Roar in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League on April 7 with the winner facing Beijing in a playoff for a spot in the group stage.

But a loss in either match will send Kaya to the region’s second-tier competition for the second straight year.

The group stage of the ASEAN zone is set June 22 to 28 under a centralized venue which will be determined on a later date.

Terengganu placed third in the Malaysia Super League while Geylang went fourth in the Singapore Premier League.

Shan United, the Myanmar National League winner, is also in the qualification stage of the Champions League and will need to win two matches in order to qualify.

In the event Shan advances, Ayeyawady will take its place by virtue of its third place showing in the same league.
