Another member of the Gilas Pilipinas Cadet squad is joining the PBA Draft with Calvin Oftana submitting his application on the eve of the league-imposed deadline.
The former San Beda star formally put his name in the draft Tuesday, following the lead of fellow Cadets Will Navarro and Jaydee Tungcab.
Oftana played for Gilas during the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers last November in Bahrain and is currently part of the pool training at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
He was part of several San Beda title teams in the NCAA and won league Most Valuable Player honors in 2019.
Meanwhile, Adamson star Jerrick Ahanmisi also formalized his entry in the draft proceedings that is expected to be among the deepest in recent memory.
The younger brother of Alaska guard Maverick Ahanmisi spent four seasons with the Falcons, becoming one of the best shooters in the collegiate ranks.
Ahanmisi elected to skip his final year of eligibility, especially with the UAAP season being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
