Pacquiao said he regularly reads the Bible in 20 to 30 minutes in the morning, and the same time frame at nights. There are also times he reads the Bible from 50 to 60 minutes.
The Bible, according to Pacquiao, is the manual to life.
Pacquiao said he memorizes verses that help him in his daily activities.
Senator Joel Villanueva said it is impossible to please God if you do not read the Bible.
Then two Bible-oriented senators issued the statements in today’s Senate regular session presided by Senate President Vicente Sotto III as the country celebrates the Fourth Annual National Bible every last Monday of January.
'’We need faith,’’ intoned Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri.
Senator Juan Edgardo ‘’Sonny’ M. Angara said change should be internal.
‘’For as long as I have breath, I will keep on encouraging all of us to read the Word of God every single day. Let us meditate on His word day and night, recognizing that God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path,’’ Pacquiao said.
‘’Pilipinas, pinili tayo ng Diyos (Philippines, we were chosen by God). We are a chosen people, a real priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession. Let us therefore declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light,’’ he added.
