Bren is king of Mobile Legends

The "Bren Lang Malakas"  battle cry now sounds true not just in the Philippines but in the whole world. 

Bren Esports reigned supreme in the M2 Mobile Legends World Championship after outlasting Burmese Ghouls of Myanmar, 4-3, in the nail-biting grand finals on Sunday night at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. 

Star carry Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's Claude showed up in the championship-winning clash in the winner-take-all Game 7 as the Filipino ML kings extended their rule in the world tournament of Moonton's mobile MOBA game. 

Besides the trophy, Francis "Duckeyyy" Glindro's boys in black and yellow bagged the $140,000 (over P6.7 million) lion's share of the $300,000 (over 14.4 million) prize pool. 

Duckeyyy also won his second straight world title as he was also the one who steered Indonesia's EVOS Legends to the top of M1. 

As expected, KarlTzy snared the Finals MVP award that went with a $3,000 (over P144,000) prize. 

Riding the momentum of its 3-1 beating of Indonesian champ RRQ Hoshi in the lower bracket finals earlier, Bren zoomed to an early 2-0 lead in the series behind star carry Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno. 

Aided by veteran tank Allan "Lusty" Castromayor's Atlas, KarlTzy's Claude led Bren to a close 19-15 win in Game 1 where he finished with a 5-3-10 kill-death-assist record. 

KarlTzy's Yi Sun-shin then sparked the Filipino squad's 26-4 romp as he came through with nine kills and eight assists against a lone death. 

Seasoned sidelaner CJ "Ribo" Ribo's Pharsa was also stellar with eight kills and nine assists while captain Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel's signature Selena stepped up as well with five kills and 17 assists. 

BG pulled one back in Game 3 and appeared to have regained its form during its furious upper bracket run. 

The MPL Myanmar winner took the next two games and moved on the cusp of the world title. 

But Bren pulled all the stops behind the trio of KarlTzy's tanky Brody, Pheww's Lunox and David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon's Benedetta in Game 6 to send the championship series to a decider. 

It was a nerve-racking close contest in Game 7 until a massive clash in the 12th minute saw KarlTzy's Claude unleash a Blazing Duet that decimated four BG heroes.  

Ribo's Harith also dealt huge magic damage to get a double kill in that crucial team fight. 

KarlTzy then went for the Luminous Lord and Bren secured the world title with a 19-14 victory in 14 minutes.
