Smart Omega crashed out of the M2 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship after getting destroyed by Indonesia's Alter Ego Esports, 2-0, in the second round of the lower bracket on Saturday at the Shangri-La Hotel.

It was a great run for Omega in its first international tournament as it grabbed one of the four upper bracket spots through a dominant group stage campaign, only to fail to win a single game in the playoffs.

Omega finished at the 5th-6th spot and secured a decent chunk of the $300,000 (over P14.4 million) prize pool.

Game 1 was a pretty close battle until Alter Ego's tank Julian "LeoMurphy" Murphy's Silvanna caught Omega's carry Salic "Hadjizy" Imam's Ling with the Imperial Justice after the latter's Tempest of Blades under the mid second turret in the 11th minute.

Hadjizy died immediately while Jankurt "KurtTzy" Matira's Yu Zhong also became a casualty, allowing AE to bust open the mid lane and start taking the Luminous Lord.

Omega tried to contest at the pit but only resulted in KurtTzy and Jeniel "YellyHaze" Bata-anon's Selena getting picked off as AE easily killed the Lord behind Eldin "Celiboy" Putra's Roger and William "YAM"  Widjaya's Harith.

The MPL Invitational champion then cruised to an 18-9 victory in the 14th minute.

Getting an early Blade of Despair followed by a Bloodlust Axe, Celiboy's carry Benedetta went ham in Game 2 to lead AE to a commanding 13-1 lead before taking the Lord in just 10 minutes.

KurtTzy's Karrie got a triple kill when AE tried to end the game in the 11th minute.

But that proved to be the last kick from the MPL Philippines runner-up as Muhammad "UDIL" Julian's Vale dealt massive magic damage for the Indonesian runner-up to clean up four Omega heroes and seal an 18-5 win win 13 minutes.
