Will Navarro is foregoing his final year of eligibility with three-time defending UAAP champion Ateneo to join the PBA Draft.

The lanky Blue Eagles and Gilas Pilipinas cager declared his decision to turn pro Saturday, adding another notable name to the list of applicants who are hoping to hear their names called in the March 14 proceedings.

Navarro, who stands at 6-foot-6, has spent the last few months with Gilas as the UAAP season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He played one game during the second window in Bahrain last December, scoring four points in 16 minutes against Thailand.

The 23-year-old Navarro is currently part of Gilas’ preparation for next month’s final window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.

Navarro played one season for San Beda as part of the school’s 2016 NCAA title run before transferring to Ateneo where he underwent a one-year residency.

Under the tutelage of Ateneo coach and current Gilas program director, Navarro would play a key role in the Blue Eagles’ UAAP triumphs in 2018 and 2019.
