Toni Gonzaga to star in 'My Sassy Girl' remake

Another dream has come true for Toni Gonzaga.

She is set to star in a remake of the South Korean film "My Sassy Girl."

Note the remake is produced by her own production company, Tincan.

The company announced on social media, "In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, this year we will relive the classic Korean RomCom with its Philippine adaptation. On her birthday, we are proud to announce Toni Gonzaga is Philippines’ My Sassy Girl. #MySassyGirlPH."

Tincan also shared several stills from the film.

In her birthday vlog, Toni deemed the project "a big blessing."

She shared, "First time kong napanuod 'yung pelikula in 2006 when we were shooting 'You Are The One.' 'Di ko makakalimutan 'yun, nasa Pampanga kami sabi ni Direk Cathy (Garcia-Molina) 'Panoorin mo 'yung 'My Sassy Girl'' Ta's sabi ni Direk Cathy, ''Yan ang peg namin sayo, dapat may pagka ganyan ka, fiesty!' So 20 years after the film was released, I've given the opportunity to play the role here in the Philippines, in the Philippine adaptation of 'My Sassy Girl.' I considered it as a big blessing."

Playing her leading man in the film, which her husband Paul Soriano described as her "dream film," is actor Pepe Herrera.
