New Japan ambassador to PH tries 'Demon slayer' cosplay

The new Japanese ambassador to the Philippines tried donning one of the characters in the most popular anime “Demon Slayer.”

In a Twitter post on Sunday, Jan. 17, Amb. Kazuhiko Koshikawa shared a photo of him wearing a Kamado Tanjiro costume as he invited the public for Japan Fiesta 2021. Kamado Tanjiro is the main character in “Demon Slayer.”

Koshikawa said that he had “fun” doing cosplay for the first time.

“Had much fun doing #cosplay for the first time! Watch me deliver an opening speech in a #Tanjirou costume for #JapanFiesta2021 @ https://facebook.com/visitjapan.ph 9pm tomorrow, January 18. See you all! #Japanculture #kimetsu #DemonSlayer #anime,” the post read.

Earlier, the Japanese ambassador also tried Jollibee’s chickenjoy, which he said was on his bucket list.

Koshikawa arrived in Manila last Nov. 26, 2020.

He served as executive senior vice president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

He had been the Japanese ambassador to Spain from 2014 to 2016 and Angola from 2008 to 2011.
