SSS releases second batch of January pensions through checkless channels

State-run pension fund Social Security System (SSS) announced on Saturday that it already released the second batch of pensions for January 2021 through its checkless disbursement channels.

According to SSS, pensioners under the second batch are those whose date of contingency is from the 16th to the last day of the month and are receiving their pensions through PESONet participating banks, e-wallets, or MLhuillier.

These pensioners, SSS said, can already withdraw their January 2021 pensions after it was released on Friday, January 15, a day earlier than the supposed release date which falls on a weekend.

SSS said the second batch of January 2021 pension releases covers nearly 1.12 million pensioners with combined pensions amounting to P5.19 billion.

Meanwhile, pensioners who are still receiving their pensions through checks or non-PESONet participating banks will receive their January 2021 pensions following the old disbursement method based on their date of contingency, SSS added.
