There are talks that Hollywood actor Rami Malek has been tapped to portray boxing senator Manny Pacquiao in an upcoming film bio.
According to rumors, Malek already signed on to do the project alongside Leonardo DiCaprio who is supposed to play the role of the “Pambansang Kamao’s” coach, Freddie Roach.
Fans could dream on.
Malek himself told Rappler it is not true.
“I can absolutely deny that. I will definitely not be playing Manny Pacquiao,” he said.
If ever, he is hoping a Filipino actor would get the part.
“I think that would be the right choice…for someone of Filipino origin, it would be nice to see that person being played by somebody from that country,” he said.
Last December, Pacquiao confirmed there is a proposal to produce a movie about him.
He added, though, “Hindi pa kami seriously na nag-usap ng finality about that topic.”
The boxer also mentioned the possibility of DiCaprio appearing in the proposed movie.
