An Overseas Filipino Worker gave birth in a cubicle of a comfort room at the departure lobby of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 Friday.

Media Affairs Division head Jess Martinez of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said building attendant Aileen Perion heard the cries of a baby inside the cubicle and called the attention of airport police and NAIA medical team at around 10:45 a.m.

The OFW was identifed as Faibza Damao. She was about to board a Philippine Airlines flight for General Santos City after finishing her 14-day quarantine when she gave birth.

Airport employees said Damao was seen coming in and out of the comfort room several times before she gave birth. She arrived at the NAIA almost two weeks ago from Saudi Arabia.

The MIAA medical and Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration brought Damao and her baby first to the NAIA clinic and later to the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila.
