Solemn 'pagbibihis' of new Sto. Niño de Pandacan will be streamed online
Witness the solemn “pagbibihis” or vesting of the new official image of the child Jesus of the Sto. Nino de Pandacan Parish on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The vesting will take place at 4 p.m. at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros which will be livestreamed via the church’s Facebook page.
The Manila Cathedral explained that the image was made of wood from the convent of the parish of Pandacan that was not destroyed by last year’s fire.
The Sto. Nino De Pandacan Parish (SNPP) in Manila was damaged by a fire in July 2020 and among those damaged in the fire was the 400-year old image of the Sto. Niño.
The religious icon is an object of devotion to many Catholics, especially in the old district of Pandacan.
According to the Cathedral, placed inside the Sto. Niño is a piece of the original image.
“A theca on the chest of the image contains a piece of the finger of the original image that was cut and kept),” the Cathedral said in a Facebook post Friday, Jan. 15.
The Manila Cathedral then invited the faithful to join them in praying during the historic moment.
“Join us in praying while this historic moment unfolds,” it said.
The event takes place a day before the observance of the Feast of the Sto. Niño.
