NUEVA ECIJA – Three men, who were allegedly responsible in raping a 16-year-old girl, were arrested in Licab, Nueva Ecija on Saturday, January 9, or just a few hours after the incident was reportedly committed.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) Director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon the arrested suspects as Nathaniel Dela Cruz, 19, and a construction worker; Joseph Esguerra, 22; and Francis Ngangac, 24.
The suspects were accused of raping Dela Cruz’s 16-year-old, grade 9 student on Saturday.
According to police reports, the suspects and the victm reportedly had a drinking spree, and when the minor was already introxicated, Dela Cruz and his companions took turns in sexually abusing her.
The incident was immediately reported to Licab Police with town chief Capt. Lauro Puno heading a follow-up operation to apprehend the suspects.
“Due to quick police reporting, we were able to locate and arrest the suspects promptly and the necessary police action was conducted. I continue to appeal to our public to continuously help us in our campaign against all forms of criminality,” said De Leon.
