The Las Piñas City government has started conducting a community-based census to determine the number of city residents who will be willing to be given vaccine shots against COVID 19.
Prioritization of vaccine recipients has been finalized by the city with medical health workers, members and officers of the local police, and senior citizens topping the list.
Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar has disclosed that under the COVID-19 vaccine procurement agreement with AstraZeneca, the British drugmaker will supply the city with 300,000 doses of vaccines.
Aguilar said the city government has allotted P200 million as part of its free COVID-19 vaccination program.
Las Piñas is one of the many LGUs that inked vaccine procurement deals with AstraZeneca.
The cities of Makati, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Manila. Pasig, Caloocan, Navotas, Valenzuela, Taguig,San Juan, and Muntinlupa have allocated varying amounts to finance their vaccine purchase from the British pharmaceutical firm.
