DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao region on Monday, January 11, reported 83 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of recorded cases to 14,007 with 2,096 active cases.
The DOH said the new cases included 48 from Davao City, 18 from Davao del Sur, five each from Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental, and two from Davao del Norte.
Of the active cases, data showed that 70.7 percent, or 1,481, was asymptomatic; 454 were mild cases, 155 were severe, and six were critical.
Meanwhile, the region recorded 108 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 11,335.
Among those who have recovered on Monday were 87 patients from Davao City, eight from Davao Oriental, five from Davao del Norte, four from Davao de Oro, three from Davao del Sur, and one from Davao Occidental.
Eight deaths were also reported on Monday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the region to 576. The DOH said six of the fatalities were from Davao City, one from Davao de Oro, and another from Davao del Sur.
