Thirdy Ravena out for three months

Thirdy Ravena will need at least three months to make a full recovery from a fractured right finger suffered in last weekend’s Japan B.League game for San-En Neophoenix.

San-En made the announcement Friday, a day after Ravena underwent successful surgery at Chunichi Hospital in Narita, Japan.

Ravena was diagnosed with a right fourth finger metacarpal oblique fracture after getting hurt in the third quarter of Saturday’s 81-80 road loss to the Shibuya Sun Rockers.

Even before the timetable was announced, Ravena was already ruled out of the upcoming B.League All-Star Game and Slam Dunk Contest in Mito.

If the timetable is followed, Ravena could miss a total of 24 games between now and the first week of April and could make a comeback during the final weeks of the B.League regular season which ends in May.

Ravena had already missed one game since the injury which saw San-En absorb a 105-64 loss to Shibuya last Sunday.

That scenario still depends on how Ravena can work his way back as soon as possible.

His absence is a big blow for the Neophoenix, who are struggling with a 5-22 record.
