3 flood-control structures in Dinalupihan, Bataan completed
Three flood-control structures were recently completed in Bataan to protect various communities in the municipality of Dinalupihan from flooding and river overflow, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Friday.

The newly-built flood walls will serve as protection for residents living in Barangays Dalao, Maligaya, and Pita which are located near the river.
According to Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, the flood-mitigation projects include a 289.6-meter flood control structure along Maligaya River as well as a 305-meter wall along Pita River.
Both projects were implemented under a P22.19-million allocation under the 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Moreover, another structure with a drainage system in Dalao River with net length of 108-meters on the left side and 267-meters on the right was also implemented. A total of P43-million has been allotted for the project.
The secretary said it is part of the effort to further mitigate flooding in the province of Bataan. It is implemented under a P22.19-million allocation from the 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA)
“We should also commend Bataan First District Engineering Office and Regional Director Roseller Tolentino for completing the much needed infrastructure projects on time despite the additional requirements poised by the minimum health standards in order to aid the flood management program of the province,” Villar said.
