Sen. Panfilo M. Lacson said Thursday the lesson learned from the mob attack on the US Capitol is ‘’do not vote for insanity.’’
Lacson was reacting to pro-US President Donald Trump demonstrators storming the US Capitol where senators and congressmen were in a joint session to validate the votes for Trump and US President-elect Joe Biden.
A woman was reportedly shot and killed during the demonstration. The mob was able to enter the US Capitol and US journalists complained of being harassed.
‘’The irony of all ironies is now unfolding in the premises of the US capitol building where democracy is put to shame in the world’s greatest democracy,’’ Lacson, chairman of the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, said.
