Duterte orders BIR reshuffle, relief of those involved in anomalies
President Duterte has ordered the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to reshuffle its personnel with several of them facing dismissal over their alleged involvement in irregularities.

The latest presidential directive was issued to BIR commissioner Caesar Dulay during the President's televised address in Davao City Monday night.
"I’d like to request Atty. Dulay sa BIR, magbalasa ka. Magbalasa ka ng tao tapos ibigay mo sa akin ang listahan. And I will review if it would promote the service of these people to the country," the President said.
Duterte suggested that revenue officers who have gained a certain "reputation" should no longer be given any assignment and instead be assigned to the BIR commissioner's office. He noted that other personnel allegedly involved in any anomaly could be relieved from their posts.
"I request all directors in all departments na kung may mga nadudahan kayo, para hindi kayo madamay (if you doubt some personnel of shenanigans and do not want to be dragged into this), the directors, I would ask you to relieve that employee and i-assign mo sa opisina mo (assign to your office). I-freeze mo na lang if we cannot stop them," he said.
The President issued the latest order after reading aloud the names of several BIR personnel who have been dismissed from the service. In recent weeks, Duterte exposed the names of public servants implicated in corruption allegations when he addressed the nation over state television.
"I’d like you to give you the list of personnel dismissed from service," Duterte said in his speech Monday night.
"Hindi ko na sabihin, alam mo na kung ano nitong mga kasalanan nito. Basta BIR alam mo na, hindi na kailangan (I won't say their offense because you already know them. You already known when it involves the BIR. It's no longer needed)," he said.
The President has ordered the justice department to probe corruption allegations in the entire government and prosecute those involved. Duterte said he was exasperated over the rampant corruption and vowed to use the remainder of his term to clean up the government.
