Petro Gazz releases Panaga, four other players

The Petro Gazz women’s volleyball team is letting go of its five players for a possible rebuild of its roster this season.

In a social media post, the team thanked the services of Cherry Nunag, Jeanette Panaga, Jonah Sabete, Kai Baloaloa and Jovy Prado during the team’s stint in the Premier Volleyball League.

“We’re thankful for all the years you’ve played for the Petro Gazz family! Forever grateful for all the amazing memories!” the post read.

“Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors! Thank you, Angels! #WeArePetroGazz.”

Nunag boasts of winning the 2nd Best Middle Blocker in the 2019 Reinforced Conference, while Prado and Panaga took home the 1st Best Outside Spiker and 2nd Best Middle Blocker in the 2019 Open Conference.

Despite the departure, the squad still has a lean squad bannered by Grethcel Soltones and Jerrili Malabanan.

PVL teams brace for the return of the season following the league’s decision to turn professional last November. Pending approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force, the league aims to hold its first conference in the first quarter of the year.
