Pasig LGU allots P300 M for vaccine purchase; to prioritize medical frontliners

The local government of Pasig has allocated P300 million for the purchase of vaccines against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), said Mayor Vico Sotto, as the local government prepares for its city-wide vaccination program.

“Naglaan din tayo ng pondo dito sa Pasig. At the very least P300 million (We also allocated funds here in Pasig. At the very least P300 million),” Sotto said during the Laging Handa press briefing on Monday.

“Ito po ‘yung nakalaan na pero madali naman po at kaya naman nating dagdagan ito kung may available na supply at may mabibili pa ang local na pamahalaan (This is what we already allotted but we can increase it if there is a supply available for the local government to purchase),” he added.

The local government has also started making preparations for its city-wide vaccination program.

“Naghahanda na po tayo para sa ating city-wide vaccination (We are already preparing for our city-wide vaccination),” Sotto said, adding that they are in coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force, the Department of Health, and Metro Manila Council.

The mayor said medical frontliners and senior citizen residents will be prioritized in the vaccination program of the city.

“Medical frontliners ang uunahin natin para makapagtrabaho po sila ng maayos (Medical frontliners will be prioritized so that they can work properly),” he said.

“Pangalawa, ‘yung mga senior citizens and tapos we will go from there (Second are senior citizens and then we will go from there),” he added.
