Police sarge in trouble for firing gun during spat with woman

Barely two weeks after the  shooting in Paniqui, Tarlac, another police sarge in trouble for firing his gun over an argument with a woman on proper parking in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now investigating another police sergeant who fired his gun during an argument over proper parking of a vehicle with his female neighbor in Talisay City in Negros Occidental on New Year’s Eve.

The incident occurred barely two weeks after Police Staff Sgt. Jonel Nuezca shot dead his two neighbors following a heated argument that stemmed from a land dispute in Paniqui. Nuezca is facing dismissal and now detained as two murder cases were filed against him.

Police Col. Roger James Brillantes, director of the IAS-Western Visayas, said the incident in Talisay City involves Police Executive Master Sgt. Renzie Lambayog, assigned to the Silay City Police Station.

“Based on our initial investigation, the PNP personnel fired his gun twice during his argument with her female neighbor. Fortunately, no one was hit,” Brillantes said.

He said the indiscriminate firing occurred at around 11 p.m.  in Barangay Zone 12A.

The female victim reportedly asked the policeman to park his car properly since it is blocking the road leading to her house, sparking a heated argument between the two.

When the female victim went back to confront the policeman, Lambayog allegedly pulled out his gun and fired twice.

Brillantes said they have already started the case conference for the investigation on the incident.
