The Pasig City government launched a business one stop shop (BOSS) for business application transactions Sunday (January 3) to improve the ease in doing business in the city.

Mayor Vico Sotto led the inauguration of the Pasig City BOSS located on the third flood of Ayala Malls The 30th on Meralco Avenue in Barangay Ugong.
According to Sotto, the BOSS will help the local government unit (LGU) reduce the number of people applying or renewing business permits and licenses at City Hall.

The Pasig BOSS was launched as part of the local government’s effort in improving the ease of doing business in the city and eliminate bureaucratic red tape, he said.
The BOSS will help bring the services of the city government closer to businesses that provide the bulk of the city's budget, Sotto added.
“Did you know that almost 9,575 out of 27,790 Pasig businesses are based in just two out of our 30 barangays?,” he said.
Most businesses in Pasig are in the neighboring barangays of San Antonio and Ugong, where the Ortigas Center, the city’s central business district, is located.
“Ito ang pinaka malaking source ng pondo ng lokal na pamahalaan. Dito nanggagaling ang budget para sa iba't-ibang serbisyo ng LGU natin (This is the biggest source of local government funding. This is where the budget for the various services of our LGU comes from),” Sotto said.
“Kaya kailangan mag-invest din tayo para mapaganda ang proseso ng aplikasyon at renewal dito. Mas madali ang proseso, mas dadami at lalago ang mga negosyo sa Pasig (We need to invest to improve the application and renewal process. If the process is easy, businesses in Pasig will grow),” he added.
The BOSS program aims to streamline the procedures for the issuance of local business licenses, clearances, permits or authorizations, and reduce the processing time in obtaining such documents.
