Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Debold Sinas ordered Friday the filing of administrative charges against a Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) cadet for allegedly attacking a fellow cadet on New Year’s Eve.
A GMA News report said Cadet First Class Denvert Dulansi mauled Cadet First Class Joab Mar Nacnas at the school building roof deck in Camp Castañeda, Silang, Cavite.
“The PNP has no tolerance for wrongdoings of erring personnel, and will never tolerate any misconduct, abuse or breach of discipline,” Sinas said in a statement.
The report noted that Nacnas cautioned Dulansi and two other First Class cadets identified only as Guminigin and Tudlong after he saw them drinking an alcoholic beverage.
A heated argument occurred that led to the incident.
Nacnas was rushed to the Qualimed Hospital for treatment and was later declared in stable condition with no signs of internal injury based on CT scan and X-ray examinations.
Dulansi meanwhile was turned over to the Silang Municipal Police Station for investigation.
After the incident, Sinas also directed the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development to place all cadets involved under restriction while termination and dismissal proceedings are under way.
