Robredo remains focused on COVID-19 response, shrugs off elections survey
The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday said it would rather focus on its efforts on helping Filipinos to overcome the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It issued the statement in the wake of the release of the results of the latest election survey conducted by Pulse Asia.
“The elections are still a long way away so we do not really pay much mind to these early survey results,” said Robredo’s spokesman lawyer Barry Gutierrez.
Pulse Asia, in the non-commissioned survey conducted from Nov. 23 to Dec. 2, asked 2,400 adults who they would vote for as President of the Philippines if the May 2022 elections were during the survey period.
In that survey, Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was the top choice with 26 percent, former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Senator Grace Poe with both 14 percent, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso with 12 percent, Senator Manny Pacquiao with 10 percent, and Robredo with 8 percent.
Gutierrez said it is “still too early” to pay attention to survey results.
“Right now, the VP is still focused on working to help our fellow Filipinos get past the crisis of COVID-19, and recover from the calamities of the past few months,” he ended.
In 2020, the Office of the Vice President was active in providing assistance for COVID-19 response and disaster relief operations, among others.
