Do celebrities really have it easier than regular folks when it comes to dealing with the pandemic?

Not so for Regine Tolentino. In a media conference, she admitted that her business took a direct hit. The dancer-actress has an atelier, renting out party dresses, costumes, and the likes.

“Pero dahil nawala ang mga events at di pa pwede ang mga group exercises, I had to think fast dahil affected ang business ko,” she said. “I had to be adaptable dahil di naman pwedeng sumuko na lang.”

In the early part of the pandemic, she also had a lot of stress as she had just given birth to a baby then. It was her first time to have a Cesarian delivery which added to her anxiety.

“Kapapanganak ko lang nung March 17 the day the community quarantine was announced,” she recalled. “So, nagkagulo sa ospital kasi di pa namin alam ang gagawin as we were dealing with the unknown.”

Regine admitted that she gained weight amid pandemic because doctors advised her to not exercise for a time.

“I missed the workouts,” she said. “But in a good sense, I was able to cook at home, rest, bond more with my children. Dealing with the lockdown was made easier knowing we, as a family, were in it together.”

She pointed out the importance of gratitude in the face of trials.

“Dun ko na realize na yung ibang mga importante sa yo dati ay di naman pala ganun talaga kaimportante,” Regine said. “What’s important is to be with family and ang nakaka-survive kayo.”

Once she steadied anchor, the celebrity set out a plan to recover.

“I’m very goal-oriented,” she said. “Inisip ko, ‘Eto ang nangyari---pero ano ang game plan para makabawi?’ Kailangan lumaban and having a positive mindset helps.”
